  • Early Childhood Screening - February 29, 2024

What is early childhood screening? Early Childhood Screening is a free and simple check of how your child is growing, developing, and learning. It is a review of your child's height, weight, hearing, vision, speech, language, motor, and cognitive development. Screening at 3 is preferred, but a child may be screened between the ages of 3 and the start of kindergarten, as required by Minnesota state law. Screening is not an examination to determine readiness for school but to screen for potential problems that may interfere with a child's ability to be successful. Early screening and intervention promotes early success. Information to note: If you need to cancel your appointment, please call 507-379-4838.. If you need to schedule a "re-screen" for vision, hearing, or development, please call 507-379-4838. For screening appointments, please allow 1 - 1 1/2 hours. You will need to be buzzed at the front door. Upon completion of the registration, please do not forget to "Check out." This will confirm your appointment.
