Our in-person Driver’s Education program prepares students for the Minnesota Graduated Driver’s License Test (GDL), including the knowledge exam, while helping students build the skills needed for safe, responsible driving.
Age Requirement: Students must be at least 14½ years old by the start of class.
Class Structure: This in-person option includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of Behind-the-Wheel training. Classes meet three hours a day for 10 days, Monday through Friday.
Registration Fees & Deadlines: Early bird registration is $405 and ends two weeks before the start of class. The standard registration fee is $425 and applies during the two weeks before class begins. The final registration deadline is one week prior to the start date.
First Day Attendance: Attendance on the first day of class is required. Students who do not attend may lose their spot to a waitlisted student and need to transfer to a future class.
Course Completion: Students have two weeks after the classroom portion has ended to finish any outstanding coursework. Failure to do so will result in indelibility for their Classroom Certificate of Completion. Students who miss this deadline will need to re-enroll and retake the entire course without a refund.
Permit Test: If available, students who are age 15 by the end of class may have an opportunity to take the permit test on the last day of class. If this is available, students must provide their original Social Security card and birth certificate at the start of the last day of class, no copies accepted. If the permit test is not offered in class, students must schedule their own exam online at a DMV location. Testing locations can be found on our website under the "Knowledge Exam Appointment" tab.
Additional Information: Full course and contract details, policies, and requirements will be provided during the online enrollment process.
